Helping Faulkner County Stay Warm & Dry: Donations Needed as Juvenile Housing Unit Crochets Plastic Mats for Homeless

11/26/2024

Faulkner County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Rusty Page, who serves as the Director of the Juvenile Housing Unit, has been working with the juveniles to craft crocheted plastic mats to help keep the homeless population in Faulkner County warm and dry. This past summer, the Juvenile Housing Unit was able to donate nearly a hundred mats and pillows to the Emergency Shelter, all of which were handcrafted by the juveniles in the Juvenile Housing Unit. Today, they donated more. This serves as a purpose and craft for the kids, while providing a much needed product to the community. Lieutenant Page has been fortunate to receive donations of bags from both Walmart and Kroger, but we ask residents to consider donating their extra bags to this excellent cause as they complete their holiday shopping! We will have a donation box available in the front lobby of the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office, located at 801 Locust St. Conway, Arkansas.
