Addressing Social Media Concerns

08/26/2019

***ATTENTION***
The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office wants to address something that is currently circulating on social media.

On August 20th the FBI in Little Rock issued a general awareness statement to law enforcement agencies about information they received regarding a threat of a possible school shooting in Kentucky on August 28 and in Arkansas on August 29. The suspects made the comments while playing an online game. The FBI could NOT verify the source of the threat.

The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office is NOT aware of any specific threat to any school in Faulkner County, we are taking the issue seriously.

As always we have officers present in our schools on a daily basis including the schools resource officer. Our children and teachers are number one. Sheriff Tim Ryals will be directing his deputies to conduct patrols in and around our schools to assist in keeping our kids, teachers, staff, and visitors safe.

Remember, if you see something, say something. If you have information concerning any crimes, you can contact us at our non-emergency number 501-328-5906 or send us an anonymous email at tips@fcso.ar.gov
