Fallen Officer Jim Wooley

08/05/2016

In the history of the Faulkner Sheriff's Office, four on-duty deputies have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of this county.  On this day, 13 years ago, Investigator Jim Wooley succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when he fell from the deck of a local residence. Investigator Wooley was sitting on a chair on the back deck as he interviewed the homeowner regarding a stolen lawn mower. Suddenly, the chair rolled off the side of the deck. Investigator Wooley fell five feet to the ground and suffered several broken bones and a torn aorta. He died the following morning at the hospital while being prepped for surgery.

Investigator Wooley was a very special person to this department and community.  His grandson, Patrol Lt. Chad Wooley has followed in his grandfathers footsteps and represented the Wooley name well.  Lt. Wooley and the rest of the veterans reminisce about what an incredible man he was.  Investigator Jim "Jimmy" Wooley is missed.  We were lucky to have him as long as we did!
