Negotiators Talk Subject Out

During the evening hours on Wednesday, 5.11.16 deputies responded to a report of terroristic threatening in the area of Sunny Gap Rd. and Harrod Place Dr. Victims in the area stated 45 year old William Bryant approached their fence line, leaned over the fence and pointed a dark in color long barrel pistol at them and made a threat.  Victims stated Bryant turned around out of sight when he heard 5-6 shots from a small caliber handgun.

 

As deputies were on scene taking the report, Bryant made threatening remarks to the deputy and went back in his residence where he remained and wouldn’t come out. During the incident, deputies reported hearing 2 shots being fired toward their location.

 

Due to the nature of the incident, Faulkner County Sheriff’s Special Response Team and Negotiators were on scene. After approximately three hours after the first responding deputy arrived, FCSO Negotiators were able to convince Bryant to surrender peacefully.  Bryant was charged with:

 

          Felony Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree – 3 Counts

          Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

          Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance

 

A court date and bond amount had not been set at the time of this release.
